RETREAT
November 10 & 11- St. Augustine Church Parish Hall (non- sleepover)
Friday, November 10: 6pm-9pm (dinner NOT provided)
Saturday, November 11: 12pm-5:30pm (lunch & snacks provided)
Homeless Backpack Project will be completed during this time
Retreat will conclude with students serving at the 5:30pm mass-parents & sponsors must attend
Attire: Jeans or pants (without rips or holes) & St. Augustine Confirmation T-Shirt
If you have a conflict must attend WEEKEND retreat elsewhere
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT (Service)
This year we will complete our Community Service together as a class. The below mentioned service opportunities are mandatory. We have taken the guesswork out of service hours for you. Your child is still required to attend these events even if they acquire hours for school elsewhere. This is meant to provide a sense of community within their class and within our Parish. We understand that many students have other responsibilities, but these events are required as part of our updated Confirmation Program. We are providing one service event per month until the time of the Confirmation Ceremony. Please make all necessary arrangements to be present at the following service events.
Coffee & Donuts Hospitality Team (SEPTEMBER- NOVEMBER)
Sign-up twice between September- November to serve coffee and donuts after 8am, 10am, or 12pm mass
Maria Cruz (point of contact) needs student and parent phone #
Must arrive 30 minutes BEFORE mass to help set-up and stay AFTER mass to serve Coffee & Donuts to the parishioners
Parents can wait in the Church or under the tent
This will be offered every weekend between starting Sept 17 at the 8am, 10am, & 12pm masses EXCLUDING:

Missionaries of Charity (SEPTEMBER)
Serve at Missionaries of Charity 1 weekend in September
Diana will help you coordinate so we can go in groups of 10-15
8am-12pm (must stay for the entire time)
STRICT Attire: Jeans/pants (nothing with rips/holes), t-shirt, and sneakers (NO SHORTS, TANK TOPS, LEGGINGS, OR OPEN TOED SHOES)
Hermanos Street Outreach (OCTOBER)
October - 6:30pm (Date TBD)
Will take the place of class for this day
Homeless Backpacks (NOVEMBER)
November 11th during Confirmation Retreat Day
Students will bring in supplies and work together to make backpacks for the homeless (to be distributed by Parish Family)
MASS

Invited and encouraged to attend weekly mass

TEACHING MASS
Must attend a teaching mass provided by St. Augustine (Nov- date TBA)
If you cannot attend this mass because of conflict you must:
· Sign up for FORMED.ORG (free using our zip 33146)
· watch Part 6: Teaching Mass (Part 1) & Part 7: Teaching Mass (Part 2)
· Submit responses HERE by Dec 15
ABSENCES
We ask that your child has no more than two (2) absences per year. Due to the nature of our program any and all absences will count as UNEXCUSED. We understand that sickness, trips, emergencies, and any number of reasons can cause your child to miss class, but due to the nature of our program only meeting once a week each absence counts towards the two (2) .
A student with more than two (2) absences in the Confirmation Year Program may be asked to delay the reception of the sacrament until such time that the student, in the judgment of the administration, is sufficiently prepared.

Withdrawals Refund Policy
Withdrawals made before classes begin (mid-September) are 80% refundable.
Withdrawals made between the start of class and the end of the Registration Period (end of September) will be refunded 50% of the total registration fee.
Withdrawals made after the Registration Period closes are non-refundable.
